Foseco launched the first ceramic foam filters for foundry application in 1982 with the development of SEDEX silicon carbide filters. Quickly followed by SIVEX for aluminium (1983), the range was completed with the launch of STELEX for steel in 1988. |

Since that time, developments in product chemistry and manufacturing process technology have seen significant advances in strength and performance and have permitted the launch of a range of finer and thinner filters in response to demands for higher casting quality.
SIVEX FC foam filters for aluminium casting appeared in 1999. Lightweight and non ceramic, the filters are easily machinable and float to the surface on remelt.
2003 saw the latest additions to the portfolio - STELEX PrO carbon bonded ceramic filters with superior priming properties for steel casting and KALFLO gasketted filters for diecasting applications.
