Foseco are the world’s leading supplier of feeding systems to the global foundry market. This position has been built on a long period of sustained innovation and just as importantly, extensive product application experience.

The first steps into the feeding business were made in 1938 when exothermic compounds to prolong solidification times in feeder heads were first developed. FEEDEX powder for foundries to make their own sleeves were offered in 1947 before the first prefabricated sleeves were launched in 1951.

Developments in ceramic technology led to the development of less exothermic more insulating KALMINEX sleeves in 1966, quickly followed by KALMIN purely insulating sleeves. 1978 saw the development of KALMINEX insert sleeves for highly mechanised foundries where access to the pattern was restricted.

The first feeding software appeared in 1982 with the development of FEEDERCALC followed by SOLSTAR in 1988. 2002 saw the launch of the Foseco feeding library.

FEEDEX HD high strength mini-risers appeared in 1988 and HDV spot feeders in 1998 enabled foundries to feed thin sections with restricted contact areas.

KALPUR direct pour technology (1988) combines the benefits of feeding systems and filtration, and when correctly applied, can often eliminate running and gating systems, drastically improving yield and productivity.

The latest additions are organically bonded, low fume KALMIN 200 (2003) sleeves for aluminium casting.
